timeless design meets craftsmanship: this original pair of thonet chairs, model 209p, was crafted in 1988 from solid beech – a 20th-century classic with an iconic silhouette.
developed by the thonet brothers in the 1900s, the model 209 combines cantilevered lines with technical sophistication. The characteristic, one-piece curved back and armrest frame gives the chair its iconic appearance – puristic, sculptural, and functional at the same time. Le corbusier himself used it in his buildings and called it "one of the most successful pieces of seating."
the seats have been reupholstered in a high-quality harald velvet fabric by kvadrat in an elegant sage or pastel green – a subtle shade that perfectly complements the light wood.
the frames have been freshly varnished and show only light signs of wear in the form of minor bumps and minimal wear. Overall, both chairs are in very good, ready-to-live-in condition – a successful combination of classic and contemporary fabrics.

a timeless classic of bentwood design: this pair of original thonet model 209p armchairs was crafted in solid beechwood in 1988 – based on a design dating back to the early 1900s.
model 209 is known for its sculptural elegance and technical ingenuity. The fluid, continuous curve of the armrests and backrest – all formed from a single bentwood element – creates a refined and functional silhouette. Le corbusier himself used this model in several of his architectural projects, praising it as "one of the most beautiful chairs."
the seat pads have been newly upholstered in kvadrat's luxurious harald velvet in a soft sage green or pastel tone, offering a contemporary contrast to the natural warmth of the beechwood.
the frames have been freshly refinished and show only minor signs of wear, such as light edge scuffs and minimal abrasions. Overall, the pair is in excellent vintage condition – restored, elegant, and ready to use in refined modern or classical interiors. This piece has an attribution mark,
