It features a central body made of carved painted wood which over the years has begun chipping off giving it immense character. The 2 tiers are comprised of 15 brass arms which have aged to a gorgeous patina. The design incorporates acanthus leaf motifs on the carved central column and on each scrolling arms, which is a characteristic of Italian chandeliers from that period. A wire strings the through each of the second tier arms, from which hang a round crystal followed by a carved glass drop bead. The same crystal and beads adorn the top of the chandelier, hanging from springs of brass. The one modern element that has been added to this piece are the brass candelabra covers. The accustom large carved wood bobet hangs from the base of the center column. The arms are able to swivel, collapsing the chandelier and making it possible to ship via UPS rather than white glove shipping, saving you hundreds in shipping fees. See less
