An elegant French wall or pier mirror brimming with refined Neoclassical details, the arched top surmounted by a crest of crossed laurel branches as well as floral and military motifs in plaster: a flaming torch and a quiver of arrows. The lower corners are lightly curved into volutes, echoing similar motifs below the outset squared upper corners. Low relief acanthus leaf and “pearl” beading complete the mirror surround. Original beveled mirror plate. Retains most of the original wooden back boards. Good antique condition with original gilt surface, patina, light wear and signs of age to the frame and mirror plate. Fourth quarter of the 19th century.
