The matching lid features tight concentric tooling and a domed profile, echoing the form of the vessel itself. The base features the typical Steuben-style concave polished pontil, consistent with Carder-period finishing techniques. The piece displays the luminous surface quality and refined form that defined Steuben’s early output under Frederick Carder, known for pioneering innovative colors and exceptional glass clarity. Photographed under varying lighting conditions to best convey its color saturation, surface brilliance, and sculptural detail. From two distinguished private collections in upstate New York. Note the white ring around the base is an illusion of light. Unsigned. See less
