This pair of vitt terra floor lamps features handblown satin murano glass and a slender silver-coloured metal base.valerio bottin designed the lamps in 1996, two years after joining foscarini. They embody his expressive postmodern style, which played a key role in defining the brand’s aesthetic throughout the 1990s. Although rarely signed, bottin’s lighting pieces are highly regarded among collectors for their limited production runs and consistent material quality. Each lamp includes a standard e27 socket fitted with a halo star halogen bulb (220–230v, 75w, 1000 lm, 2800k) and an inline dimmer (60–500w). Dimensions: 31 x 20 x 186 cm (12.2 x 7.9 x 73.2 in). Marked “foscarini murano, vitt terra, 250w / e27 240v”. Documented in the 2008 foscarini catalogue, p. 81. The condition of this set is very good. The glass remains intact without chips or cracks, and the metal frame shows only minor signs of wear. The dimmers function properly, and with an alternative inline dimmer, these lamps are also compatible with led bulbs – adding contemporary versatility to their original design.
