The fitted lid is crowned with a delicately shaped, five-petal flower finial in tonal blue glass—an elegant flourish emblematic of Frederick Carder’s decorative vocabulary. The base retains the typical Steuben-style concave polished pontil, consistent with Carder-period finishing techniques. Known for its exceptional craftsmanship and remarkably pure glass, Steuben’s early production represents the height of American art glass innovation.
