This type of frame was used for the interior decoration of religious buildings during the Renaissance period. It is distinguished by its classical architectural lines and its elegant, finely carved gilt bronze shield positioned at the top. A later intervention reinforced the structure with discreetly added metal rods at the back to ensure the stability and preservation of the piece.
