Excellent condition, no defects. Born in Milan on August 26, 1920, son of Senator Giovanni Treccani degli Alfieri, founder of the Treccani Institute, he began to take part in avant-garde artistic groups at a very young age. Founder and director, at 18 in 1938, of the magazine “Corrente”, he exhibited his first works at the Bottega di Corrente with friends Birolli, Guttuso, Migneco, Sassu and, later, with Cassinari and Morlotti at the Galleria della Spiga and Corrente. His first exhibition, set up at the Il Milione gallery in Milan, dates back to 1949. In the 1950s, in addition to exhibiting several times at the Venice Biennale, he participated in the realist exhibition at the Leicester Gallery in London and exhibited in New York at the Heller Gallery. In 1963 one of his works was exhibited at the Contemporary Italian Paintings exhibition, set up in some Australian cities. Treccani developed the different seasons of his artistic research in many forms, continuing to work and exhibit in small and large centers, in Italy and abroad, and alternating this "itinerant" activity with regular creative stays. Among the most recent exhibitions we recall the exhibition "Words and Painting. Ernesto Treccani meets poetry, epic and novel", at the Pinacoteca Civica of Savona from December 2011 to March 2012, always curated by Giorgio Seveso. He died in Milan on November 27, 2009.
