Minimalist abstract done in watercolor, acrylic and metallic paint (gold and light gray/blue). Titled, signed and dated on verso: "Chasm, de Joly, '88", Presented in a brick red stained wood frame with archival mats. Image, 16"H x 9.88"W.

Madeline de Joly was born 1943. Originally from New York, Madeline earned a BFA (Painting) in 1964 from Rhode Island School of Design; a BA (Art History and Printmaking) in 1980 from University of California, Santa Cruz; and is continuing her education in Vedic Science, Advanced Studies in Consciousness (begun in 1975) from Maharishi International University, USA, Europe and India.

Madeline de Joly as had more than a dozen solo exhibitions and has participated in dozens of group exhibitions. She has held numerous professional positions as an instructor and lecturer nationally and abroad, and has published more than a dozen articles. She has been interviewed many times on radio and television.
