Serene plein air landscape in oil of Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz, California, by Brian Rounds (American, b. 1968). Signed in the lower right corner by the artist. Signed, titled, and dated on verso by the artist. Unframed, but the artist has painted the edges of the canvas black to allow for a frame-less display. Image, 11"H x 14"L.
Brian Rounds (American, b. 1968) is an award-winning artist who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and is now based out of Santa Cruz, California. Since earning a B.A. in Painting from UC Santa Cruz, he has focused on a continued commitment to plein air painting in oils, but also enjoys working in watercolor and various drawing media.
His work has been shown at: Smith Gallery, UCSC; Pope Gallery, Santa Cruz; Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History; Winfield Gallery, Carmel; Many Hands Gallery, Capitola; Artisan’s Gallery, Santa Cruz; Mudzimu Gallery, Carmel; Pajaro Valley Arts Council, Watsonville; and Stripe Design Group, Santa Cruz. He has been nominated twice for the Rydell Grant.
