"Two Girls on the Beach" by Santa Cruz, California artist Gladys Hart (American, 1933-2017). Signed "Hart" lower right. Titled, signed and dated on verso. Presented in a rustic giltwood and black painted wood frame with linen liner and gold fillet. Image, 9"H x 12"W.
Gladys Hart was born in in Watsonville, California. She was affectionately known as "Pookie." Gladys and attended local Watsonville schools, went to Hartnell College and returned to school in the late 60's, first at Cabrillo College, then at San Jose State. She was an accomplished oil painter and quilter.
