This … Read more A vibrant and energetic ceramic wall sculpture by American artist John Donoghue, dated 2000 and signed on the verso. This expressive piece features Donoghue’s signature bold use of color and intricate patterning, combining glossy and matte glazes in a playful abstract composition. Stylized botanical forms in chartreuse, violet, red, and turquoise emerge from a textured black ground, accented with white relief elements and dynamic etched linework.

Handmade in terracotta clay, this work is richly layered both visually and physically. The surface is animated by contrasting textures and rhythmic marks, creating a sense of movement and complexity. The reverse is patterned with a diagonal motif and fitted with a wooden hanging bar for secure wall mounting.
