In 1950’s a Roman company, Vivai del Sol, was established by three brothers whose Southern Italian roots were influenced by Mediterranean living. Originally a landscape company they began to design gardens and terraces for Roman palazzos, then NYC and wealthy Arab Emirates. They blended Baroque elements with Mediterranean folk cultures using columns, flowers and mythical elements. The rattan wicker elephant side table with tray was born. Vivai del Sud became well known in design, architecture, furniture and accessories and being one of the leading design studios in Italy while specializing in high end tropical glam.
