Ron … Read more The Tom Vac Chair was first realized as one element in a sculpture of 70 stacking chairs named Totem. Ron Arad designed the plastic shell chair (originally in aluminum). Commissioned by the magazine Domus it was set up in the Centre of Milan during the Salome del Mobile in 1997. Made of Plastic and Chromed steel wire by Vitra in Germany, 1999. Low, wide and very comfortable. Open at the rear the corrugated plastic seat facilitates stacking. Special additives to the plastic shell prevent it from bleaching in the sun, a wonderful chair to freshen a traditional table or use in any modern installation. Works inside or out. These were rarely made in the first place due to the challenging manufacturing technique. Four together is AMAZING! See less
