Painted by one of the Most Prolific Colorado landscape artists of the late 19th century and early 20th, Charles Partridge Adam’s (1858-1942). His watercolors and oil paintings were very popular during the artist’s lifetime and remain so now. This work is considered in the high middle range of his work. His large and dramatic pictures bring quite high prices. His paintings are sold at regional auctions and by galleries in the Denver area, such as David Cook Galleries and Saks Gallery. This Antique painting is in good condition with one small area of missing paint (in close up of tree top picture) with torn canvas behind that area. It is priced for this blemish. This painting is a true piece of American Artist history, specifically Colorado. The colors speak to an actual sunset and the extravagant shades. See less
