The vintage softcover Pop Art book is published by Rizzoli International Publications Inc. New York, printed in Italy in 1994. Authored by Kenneth E. Silver, professor of art history at New York University, sho charts Hockney's multifaceted career from his early work of the 1960's, poised between Abstractions and Pop Art's revival of figuration, to his later excursions into the world of computers and new print technologies of the early 1990's.

David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to the Pop Art movement of the 1950's. He is considered one of the most influential British artist of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
