An original watercolor painting on paper by Albert Moulton Foweraker, British artist 1873-1942, "Evening Granada" scene of two women conversing in the narrow street, a third person to the rear; to the left is a row of colorful buildings, to the right are other buildings and a stone wall partially enclosing a very tall, straight tree, to the rear are other buildings on a hill with a mountain beyond, evening is falling and the sunlight is providing a soft, golden glow to the scene. (Artists named this time "The Golden Hour".), 20 3/4" x 14". A.M. Foweraker is signed in the lower right corner front, inscribed on reverse is "Evening Granada". The work was probably executed in the 1910's or 1920's. CA number 3973, CA purchased spring of 2025 from a north of England auction house.
The work has been reframed with White Museum matboard, lined, Museum Glass and museum backing, and 1 1/2" antiqued gold Italian reproduction moulding.
Foweraker was educated at The Exeter School and at Christ's College Cambridge. He lived at Swanage for many years.
His works were exhibited at The Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham; The Dudley Gallery; The Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts; The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; The Manchester City Art Gallery; The Royal Academy; The Royal Society of British Artists; The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours; The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Scottish Academy.

The colors are clear and soft as would be expected from an evening glow. It is in wonderful condition for something practically 100 years old. The reframing to museum standards is to protect this lovely painting for another 100 years. less
