Caldwell style Industrial Machine Age table lamp with Tropical themed Handel style reverse painted glass shade signed "Mary Lou" circa 1910's. This brilliant specimen is outstanding in detail and quality very much in keeping with similar E.F Caldwell lamps of the same period. The heavily weighted base and armature details have early Machine Age styling that echo the Victorian aesthetic from the turn-of-the-century. The elegant extended hook armature design has a slightly adjustable ball joint ash the socket support post, all very well engineered and assembled. The beautifully rendered Tropical themed frosted glass shade can articulate within a limited range of directions via that joint but it gets a bit tight in certain positions. See less

This stunning lamp is in exceptional complete original condition, completely intact and fully functional. The solid Brass assembly retains an ideal light patina finish with some mild signs of surface wear with no issues or blemishes aside from some light edge bumps to the bottom rim of the base (see pic). The large hand painted glass shade is pristine and blemish free with brilliant color to the painted landscape. Original socket with push-in base switch has been refitted with new rayon wrapped insulated wiring and has been inspected to be clean, safe and completely functional. Note: on the brass shade fitter mount one of the positioning screws is fixed in a set position while the other two can be loosened/tightened to position or remove the glass shade.
