I had discovered … Read more Many years ago I had the pleasure of visiting the Parisian atelier of sculptress Marie la Varende. I had discovered her extraordinary work in my favorite French magazine Cote Sud. She graciously explained to me that when she is traveling in Morocco and working with the local clay she has a very short amount of time to render the street scenes that she sees with a palette knife. Twenty year later I am still as much in love with her work as back then. Her work is done in very small editions however this piece is the only one of its kind! See less
