Vintage Hand Painted Indigenous Art Bird & Frog Salt and Pepper Shakers
Made In Japan
This vintage salt and pepper set was produced in Japan during the 1960s. The set is egg - shaped, hand - painted, and is styled after tribal mask and totem pole art. One shaker was created to resemble a bird and has a white background with red, blue and black accents. The other shaker is made to resemble a frog and has a black background with red, blue and white accents. Both have made in Japan foil stickers.
Measures ~ 2 1/4" H x 1 1/4" bottom diameter.
Both shakers are in excellent vintage condition and appear to have been used for display. They are without chips, scratches, or cracks. The colors are intact and bright. The glaze is glossy. There are cork stoppers in each shaker that have not been removed and may be very dry and unusable. Please view the photographs.
