The piece is topped with its original silver-plated lid and handle, both crafted by renowned Sheffield silversmiths James Dixon & Sons.

The lid bears the EPNS mark along with the “J D & S” maker’s stamp, confirming its quality silverplate construction. The impressed “WEDGWOOD” mark on the base (without “England”) dates the piece to circa 1870–1890. The silverplate and jasperware remain in beautiful vintage condition with age-related wear and some fine cracking in the applied relief, common in early examples of this type. No strucural issues.
