This vintage Rustic Farmhouse stoneware jug is a rare example of early Hull Pottery, produced in the 1920s–1930s. The form is classic utilitarian ware, intended for kitchen or farm use, with a warm brown glaze & functional pouring spout. The original wooden stopper & wire/wood handle are still intact, adding to the rustic character.

The base is clearly impressed w/ a rectangular stamp featuring a capital “H”, consistent with Hull’s early marks before they transitioned to their more decorative art pottery lines. The piece is unglazed on the base with visible turning rings, further suggesting early production.

Early Hull utilitarian pieces are less common than their mid-century artware & are highly collectible among American pottery enthusiasts.
