First off, let me say that I really know very little about this lamp except that it does have some … Read more First off, let me say that I really know very little about this lamp except that it does have some age, but clearly has been recently rewired. The body of it is wood, carved and painted, and stylistically it has the feeling of Arte Nouveau. I feel sure, however, that it is not that old, and is probably from the 60s, or 70s. The background color is a mottled medium brown, reminiscent of the color of brown leather.
The base has the appearance of brass, but it is also carved wood, painted to give it an aged brass finish.
It is a handsome lamp, and would work well in a variety of settings. A shade is not included, nor is a harp, but a small finial does come with the lamp (see last photo). See less
