Striking hand-blown black amethyst glass swan bowl featuring a gracefully arched neck and ruffled bowl. Measuring 8 inches long by 5 inches wide, this sculptural piece showcases fluid artistry and subtle asymmetries, characteristic of mid-century studio glasswork. The rich black glass only reveals a deep amethyst hue at the location of the pontil mark, the rest of the piece is too thick.
Likely made by a skilled studio glass artist in the mid-20th century; unmarked. Pontil mark from manufacturing shown in picture 6&7. This is a slight smooth bump, with the appearance of a chip but without a chip. This would be where the maker would have had a rod attached during the firing of the glass. Very clean piece.
