He achieved national recognition through a series of one-man shows and awards in California, Texas, New York, and Paris. He is known for his rural landscapes and Western scenery. His paintings are represented in numerous private, corporate and museum collections.

In the 1990s he ended up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Clymer was influenced by the culture, and art of the American southwest. As his reputation grew, he successfully put on numerous one man shows in the galleries of Scottsdale, Sedona, Santa Fe and Taos. Clymer was developing his interest in the Wounded Knee Massacre. I believe that this depicts one of his abstract Native American subjects. Wonderful red color combinations. Very large art piece, such to make an impact. See less
