The Giants Struck by Debris is an etching realized in 17th Century by the Italian artist Pietro Santi Bartoli (1635 - 1700). Engraved from the original fresco painting of "Sala dei Giganti" by celebrated painter and architect Giulio Romano (1499 ca – 1546). Good condition on laid paper. Pietro Santi Bartoli ( 1635 -1700) was a pupil of of Fr. Lemaire and N. Poussin, he was a painter and engraver, famous not so much for the original works he left and for reproductions of Renaissance paintings, but for his vast activity connected with the classical world. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
