Meant to hang on the wall, it would be perfect for an outdoor fence or gate. The soap dish shaped, shallow dish is not meant to hold a lot, perhaps just a shallow bit of water, or even bird food. The round wall mount section has birds in the design. This could be used as a match holder for an outdoor fireplace as well. This piece is painted, you can see the black cast iron showing through some of the paint. I am not sure if it is rust coming through the paint or it was intentionally painted this way.
