A type of Heriz, generally in squarish sizes, allover patterns and coarse to moderate weaves, wool or mixed constructions; woven before 1900. Term is often extended to early medallion, later 19th century examples in Caucasian colours. Earlier pieces often have slightly more muted palettes employing rust, straw and lighter blues. Generally in carpet sizes, some scatters. Expensive. See less
