These are origional hand coloured Lithographic prints of French Generals from the 1914-18 Great War.
Generals Dubail, Mangin, Pau, Debeney, Sarrail, Joffre, Guillaumat, Maunoury and Micheler.
Lithographic reproductions are early copies of a photo or drawing of the original subject, a colour separation is produced using the the photograph/drawing then this information is transferred to a lithographic plate that is photo sensitive. The finished print is then hand coloured.
These printed plates are then mounted on a contrasting thin carton like paper mount.
The finished product is extremely lifelike and impressive.
