The striking decoration of vertical stripes in black, yellow and pink resembles the fabric of a classic striped pyjamas – hence its popular name, which has become common among collectors and enthusiasts of post-war Czechoslovak design.

The vase is an example of the aesthetic transition between the fading functionalism and the emerging, more colorful and decorative style of the late 1950s. Its simple, cylindrical proportions combined with a playful pattern evoke both rationality and liveliness, perfectly capturing the spirit of the time.
