An excellent First edition period black and white offset lithograph (print) of drawing "Delmonico Building" in Manhattan by American painter … Read more An excellent First edition period black and white offset lithograph (print) of drawing "Delmonico Building" in Manhattan by American painter and commercial photographer Charles Sheeler (1883-1965), recognized as one of the founders of American modernism, developing a "quasi-photographic" style of painting known as Precisionism and becoming one of the master photographers of the 20th century. Comes from a First Limited Edition art folio of period pieces published in 1939. Very realistic and detailed. The published even had to put mark "REPRO" under the image for it not to be confused with the original drawing signed by the artist. The signature is not in pencil, but is in the print. Publisher copy on the back. Excellent condition - minor tanning on the border, never framed. See less
