(Gansart) . Rich with the classic Art Deco aesthetic, the table utilizes cutting edge curved legs, a metal bar, and detailed stepped edges on both the table and chair edges. The entire set demonstrates exquisite craftsmanship with complex construction. While many Art Deco pieces have a streamlined elegance, this set is an unusual hybrid of traditional oak furniture with the ornamentation and structure of the Art Deco aesthetic. I cannot find another set like this in my research and can only guess that it might have been a commissioned piece.

There are five chairs to this set, which I believe was intentional. The Art Deco philosophy of design included the 'Rule of Three'.
which refers to the principle of arranging decorative elements in groups of odd numbers, which is believed to be more visually appealing and balanced to the human eye than even numbers.

Finally, the table is designed to accommodate additional leaves, which are missing. There is a drop down set of straight legs incorporated into the table to stabilize an extended table.(see photos) One could have leaves fabricated if desired. See less
