Coastal Bielecky Brothers pencil reed coffee table with brass capped feet. Sculptural silhouette with legs that terminate in brass fittings. Beveled interior edge that holds a Starphire glass top. Circa 1970s to 1980s. Pictures taken in both bright outdoor light and low indoor light. Signed on underside.
Bielecky Brothers has hand-crafted furniture in wicker, rattan, and cane for over a century. Founded in New York City in the early nineteen-hundreds, the company built its reputation on quality and craftsmanship and produced pieces for such names as Rockefeller, Kennedy, and others whose homes came to define a classic American aesthetic. Design greats Billy Baldwin and Angelo Donghia are credited with reviving the maker's relevance and redefining the use of these classic, natural pieces in the modern home.
