A santo is a statue, typically carved of wood, depicting a religious figure in the Catholic tradition. They continue to be important iconography in the former holdings of the Spanish Empire. This figure appears with long black hair and wearing a robe. Note that both monks and nuns may be depicted in robes for purposes of these carvings.
