An elegant early to mid 20th century, famille rose, porcelain hat stand. Hand-painted in a palette of soft pinks, greens and blues. A depiction of a garden scene is shown with court ladies in flowing robes amidst a backdrop of flowering trees, rocks and a pavilion.
A calligraphy inscription on one side adds cultural context, possibly referencing themes of nature or the delicate beauty of the woman portrayed. The base bears a red stamp possibly indicating manufacture in the Jingdezhen kilns.
