This is an exquisite antique Japanese moriage work from the Satsuma region of Japan. It features gilding and a stunning hand-painted design of Japanese Immortals on porcelain pottery in a polychrome palette in shades of gold, blue, sienna, and green, and yellow. The raised moriage work is incredible and detailed.

The vase measures 12.5" high and 7.5" wide and dates to the early 1900's. Nice condition, no damage, some wear to the gilding on the rim and base. The bottom has a hole drilled, may have been for using as a lamp base, a plastic plug has been added.

This would be stunning In an Asian, Japanese, or Chinoiserie decor. See less
