It is solid wood, well constructed, sturdy and heavy. Given that the mirror came from an estate near the Virginia-North Carolina border, we assume that it was manufactured by one of the great furniture houses in one of those states. We believe that the mirror dates from the late 1940s. The frame contains the original mirror, we believe; it shows minor spotting as characteristic to old mirror glass. (We chose not to remove the backing and replace this original mirror.) The gold patina has nice depth and color. The mirror measures 32 inches long and 25 inches wide. It is 1 inch deep. See less
