This stunning shell sculpture is a rich, symmetrical composition that evokes the elegance of a floral arrangement made entirely from the sea. It’s both sculptural and ornamental, with a sense of vertical movement and color harmony that gives it a regal, bouquet-like presence.
Artwork Description:
Structure & Form:
• The piece is arranged on a geometric white marble base, cut in a faceted, gem-like shape that grounds the organic forms above.
• From this base, the sculpture rises upward in a symmetrical fan, creating a visual rhythm that feels both architectural and floral—like a coastal urn or marine temple offering.
Shell Arrangement:
• At the bottom tier, large fan scallop shells with dramatic burgundy and ivory variegation encircle the base like petals or armor. Small spiral shells sit between them like pearls in a crown.
• The middle band features overlapping layers of curved white and blush shells, interspersed with polished turban shells and rose-toned barnacle clusters, giving the composition density and depth.
• The topmost layer bursts outward in a display of sculptural energy: bold spiraled whorls, spiky auger shells, a prominent central moon snail, and arched fan shells create a stunning visual canopy. Rich purples, mauves, and creams dance across the forms, blending natural pigment with compositional drama.
Back View:
• The reverse side is no less detailed—featuring larger conchs and barnacle-encrusted shells with stunning natural textures, adding visual weight and anchoring the piece from every angle.
Impression & Style:
This sculpture reads as a marine bouquet or oceanic crown—a ceremonial object or centerpiece that could grace a coastal altar, luxury interior, or gallery pedestal. The layered intensity, color palette (rose, cream, wine, ivory), and balance of smooth and textured surfaces give it an aura of both celebration and quiet reverence.
It feels lush, feminine, and timeless
