A 1995 abstract acrylic on canvas painting titled "86 Decibels" by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Signed to the lower right, as well as titled, dated, and signed verso, this painting has a black background with abstract designs throughout. The work is unframed with the painting continuing onto the edges of the canvas.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
