Carriage trunks, often referred to as steamer trunks, were a prominent form of luggage during the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly popular with those who traveled by carriage, rail, and steamship. Initially, these trunks were simple, lockable wooden boxes, but they evolved into intricately designed pieces, both functional and attractive. 

This lovely leather trunk would have been used to store a clothes and personal possessions while travelling. Remains in original condition. See less
