Imposing cast ceramic vase, ceramic with added kaolin, also known as soft porcelain, consisting of a large lower globe on … Read more Imposing cast ceramic vase, ceramic with added kaolin, also known as soft porcelain, consisting of a large lower globe on which two figures rest in a classic rural idyll, similar to those depicted in paintings from the 1700s or 1800s, with a gentleman courting a woman with a large garland of flowers in his hands, both dressed in 18th-century clothing. The neck of the vase is rather elongated, cylindrical in shape, and the two figures use it as if it were a column, with the man leaning on it and the woman tending to hide. On the mouth of the vase, there is a ceramic latticework with intertwined curbs forming a small vase enriched with numerous flowers in relief, all entirely handmade and applied by hand. The vase is unsigned but can be attributed to the Bassano factory or certainly to the Veneto area, to manufacturers such as Agostinelli and Dal Pra or the Cozzi workshop. The vase dates back to the late 19th century and is made in full Art Nouveau style, with a predominantly delicate cream color and soft, subtle tones. The vase is enormous, measuring almost 60 centimeters in height with a diameter of 24 centimeters and weighing over 5 kg. The patina covering the object is good and allows us to date it to the second half of the 19th century. See less
