Item description:
A marvelous cornucopia, entirely hand-crafted in transparent glass with white opaline inclusions, made in Murano, Venice, in the early decades of the 20th century, 1900, attributable to Fulvio Bianconi for Paolo Venini's glassworks.
Useful information for evaluating the item:
The vase is unsigned, but it is very reminiscent of the artistic works of Fulvio Bianconi for Paolo Venini, famous master glassmakers from Murano. From internet research, we find that Fulvio Bianconi made many cornucopias similar to ours, also with this same type of glass, between transparent and opaline, all estimated or sold for a minimum of €1,000-1,200 up to €2,000-2,500, to give an idea of the value of similar glassware.
Final considerations on the object:
The artistic level is extremely high. Note the beauty of the object, made entirely by hand, with glass pulled with tongs and twisted on itself, then blown open at the mouth, a process of the highest quality. Note how the drawn glass is rich in white filaments inside, as if there were inclusions of a different glass in the transparent glass, or as if the vitrification had taken place in a particular way; in fact, the glass appears to be caramelized sugar. This is probably why the object has not been signed, because the glass is not smooth on the surface but is full of micro grooves, all stepped, and with glass stretched in this way, signing it with a diamond point becomes truly impossible.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
