Tip Gallè vases are copies of vases from Émile Gallé's artistic glassworks, made in Romania around the mid-1900s. Émile Gallé (Nancy, May 4, 1846 – Nancy, September 23, 1904) was a French glassmaker and decorator, born into a family of crystal merchants, considered one of the most important French glassmakers ever. The vase dates back to the first half of the 20th century and is made with great attention to detail. Tip Gallè vases are obviously worth much less than the originals, even though they are made using the same technique, i.e., with the use of hydrogen sulfide and pitch to create the relief decoration. They are offered by other online art and antiques retailers at prices ranging from a minimum of €100 to around €500, depending on the workmanship and size of the glassware.
