Each figure is delicately hand-painted, with vivid white glazed bodies accented by bold scarlet combs and wattles, yellow beaks and claws, and naturalistic detailing to the feathers. The roosters are perched upright on tree-stump inspired plinths, painted in a faux-bois gray and brown palette. Each base is hollow with a clean circular opening. While unmarked, the style and execution suggest Italian manufacture during a period when chinoiserie and revival export styles were widely reinterpreted for Western decorative arts markets.
