This three panel room divider … Read more We are pleased to offer this beautiful English Room divider / Screen, from the 1890s.
This three panel room divider is made of Tiger Oak wood, The center of center panel adorned with shield with raised sword above it, four figures inside shield: lion, held cross, sailing ship, fish ; inscribed ribbon below with Latin "Per Mare Per Ter Ras"- "through the sea, through the lands".
Center shield surrounded by four rearing lions, top and bottom vines and acanthus leaves.
The left and right side panels each with carved female bust in the center surrounded on panel by rosettes, vines and acanthus leaves.
Supported with four sturdy legs ending with paw feet.
Completely restored ( refinished hand French polish), very sturdy and in very good condition.
