This stunning pair of vintage mid century modern lounge chairs were designed by Raphael Raffel and made in France circa 1970. These matching arm chairs are exceptionally well-made with original upholstery in a gorgeous rich, dark brown leather with button-tufted seats and upholstered armrests and distinctive tripod-shaped wishbone bases in heavy stainless steel. These incredibly unique chairs epitomize the style of later modernism that combined mid century minimalism and retro glam extending from the late 1960s and through the 1970s and 80s. Original metal leveling feet glides are adjustable.
CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use and perfectly broken-in leather with a beautiful natural sheen. Chairs are heavy and sturdy. One very small slit to fabric on backside of one chair (see photos).
