Vintage Camille Le Tallec of Paris Hand Painted Limoges Porcelain Perfume Bottle - France
This is a vintage 1955 hand painted Limoges porcelain Perfume bottle made and signed by Camille Le Tallec. This has heavy 24K gold gilding with tiny hand painted colorful birds, truly an exquisite piece. Would be beautiful on a vanity table or in a collection. The markings on the bottom read "Hand Painted by Le Tallec of Paris - Made in France" and has the CC mark which indicates it was made in 1955. Bottle with stopper measures 5" high and 4" wide. Good condition, some gold loss on the rim, stopper has a chip on the part that goes inside the bottle, shown in last photo.
Camille Le Tallec was born in France in 1906. He graduated from the prestigious Ecole du Louvre, (now the famous Paris museum), in 1929. In 1930, Le Tallec took over the family china-painting business, located in Belleville, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Atelier Le Tallec prospered by lavishly decorating porcelain made in Limoges and became a world renowned atelier, supplying porcelain to the late Queen Elizabeth II and other well known people at the time. Tiffany acquired Le Tallec in the early 1990's, shortly before the death of Camille.
