Design
The shape consists of a handblown Murano glass sphere divided into three distinct horizontal sections. The central band is composed of opaque white glass, while the top and bottom are formed in grey smoked glass. The lamp is illuminated from within, and the milky glass diffuses the light softly, creating a gentle ambient glow. Above, the opening allows for use as a vase, permitting the user to place a flower or branch without interrupting the light's function. This duality is handled with clarity and simplicity, key traits in Nason’s output during this period. The glass thickness and symmetry give the object a balanced presence, and the internal wiring is cleverly concealed so as not to interfere with the overall form.
