the renown kpm porcelain manufactory was founded in 1831 by the porcelain painter carl krister. In 1920 rosenthal took the majority of shares in the kpm company. After ww ii the company was continued in poland until closure in 1971.

the front decor of the sugar bowl shows a beautifully detailed and hand-painted sugar advertising figure holding two traditional sugar loafs. These iconic blue-white cone-shaped sugar loafs were used for making traditional fire punch, for example.

on the back of the vessel the german advertising slogan in old, pre-war sütterlin script can be read: " an zucker sparen grundverkehrt! der körper braucht ihn! zucker nährt." it was hand-painted too.

the kmp porcelain bottom brand logo used from 1925 to 1945.
