This vintage Egyptian Sultanabad rug, measuring 6'5" by 18', is handwoven with wool on a cotton foundation in the Nile Delta region of Northern Egypt. Crafted in Fustat, the ancient capital located at the northern edge of modern Cairo, these rugs are created using time-honored techniques that have remained largely unchanged for centuries.
